Herriman City- Suburban

Herriman City lies in the far southwest corner of Salt Lake County and is well loved for its west mountain views and shopping and dining conveniences. This is largely a new construction area which sprung up from the year 2000 forward and continues growth in large numbers today.  Herriman offer a large diversity of single family and condo/townhome options.  Growth of all income demographics is well supported in these areas.

As Herriman offers many new construction communities, there is a high percentage of HOA attached to home-ownership.  Buyers should educate themselves on HOA independently and in speaking with their realtor so that they know what to anticipate in potentially rising HOA costs over the years of home ownership.

Herriman has two different kinds of communities.  In the foothills of Herriman there are a number of communities with a suburban feel – large lots sizes, larger single family homes, quite neighborhoods, small parks, and beautiful views.  In the center of Herriman a plethora of dining options, medical offices, banks and credit unions are easily accessible.  The center of town largely offers townhome and condo options.  Herriman City is a five minute drive to The District Center where you will find an abundance of additional shopping, dining, entertainment, and convenience options.

Herriman Town Center is in process of development. A number of new construction communities are being built here, and Trax transit will run into this area but there is no scheduled date at this time.

J.L.Sorenson Recreation Center is located in the Town Center and offers a climbing wall for kids, large pool, weight and cardio room, and track.  The library is next door to the rec-center.

One reason many people explore purchasing a home in Herriman is because one pays a lesser price per square foot in this area for a newer home, and also because all conveniences are within a five minute drive, making for a leisurely lifestyle.

Commute time to downtown Salt Lake will range 25 – 30 minutes, or to east side Salt Lake County as much as 45 minutes.  Traffic in Herriman tends to run heavier then on east side Salt Lake.
