South Jordan City - Suburban
South Jordan lies at the far southwest side of Salt Lake County. Many new developments sprung up in this city from the year 2000 forward and growth continues in high numbers today. South Jordan offers a large diversity of single family and condo/townhome options. Growth of all income demographics is well supported in this area.
As South Jordan offers many new construction communities there is a high percentage of HOA attached to home-ownership. Buyers should educate themselves on HOA independently and in speaking with their realtor so that they know what to anticipate in potentially rising HOA costs over the years of home ownership.
The largest community in South Jordan is Daybreak Community, which is well loved for its Cottage, Colonial and Victorian style homes. Daybreak offers wide spread walking trails and lakes for beauty and recreational activity. In addition, there is a large pool and clubhouse, recreational center, local business options, and music venue. The District Center is a five minute drive from Daybreak. Here you will find an abundance of shopping, dining, and entertainment, options such as Harmon’s Grocer, Megaplex Movie Theater, Costco, Trader Joes, as well as medical centers, banks and credit unions. Daybreak is a shared space community which results in smaller lot sizes overall, but not without exception.
There are countless other communities in South Jordan for buyers of all income groups. These neighborhoods typically offer a different style of home including contemporary, mountain style, and modern. Lot sizes outside of Daybreak often run larger, but this is less the case with the newest and more current construction communities due to the cost of land and labor.
One reason many people purchase in South Jordan is because one pays a lesser price per square foot in this area for a newer home. Many people also appreciate the community feel generated from the shared space and walking trails in Daybreak. And all conveniences are no more than a five minute drive making for a leisure lifestyle.
Commute time to downtown Salt Lake will range 25 – 30 minutes, or to east side Salt Lake County as much as 40 minutes. Traffic in South Jordan tends to run heavier. Trax transit is located in Daybreak and travels into downtown Salt Lake.
